In the event of a fire, smoke clearance ventilation systems serve one of two purposes; to ventilate the common areas which may become smoke logged following a fire, clearing the smoke to allow access to escape routes; or to vent a quantity of smoke from an area, leaving clear air below so occupants can exit safely and providing a safe route for emergency services.

At LJ Pratley & Partners, we offer a range of control systems for natural smoke and heat exhaust ventilation that enable our customers to not only ensure the safe exit of occupants in the event of a fire but also ensure their strict adherence to statutory requirements.

Using single or multi zone control panels, we can design and install control systems for all areas requiring natural smoke and heat exhaust ventilation, either as standalone systems or as part of larger fire alarm systems, natural ventilation systems or building management systems.

Our range of smoke ventilation products are all CE marked, including control systems compliant with the harmonised European standards (hEN) BS EN 12101- 10:2005 and prEN 12101-9, rooflights certified to BS EN 12101-2:2003 and where complete solutions are not available; actuators tested as part of CE marked BS EN 12101-2:2003 products or Annex G of that Standard.
